Windsurfing: Shoreham Wind Direction: SW-WSW Wind Stength: F5-6 Surf / Sea State: Flat / Choppy Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Headed down to the River Adur for high tide at 10am, spent an hour on 5.5m
and freestyle board, hugely enjoyable in strong gusting winds and mirror
flat water. Some decent speed, lots of laid out gybes and even a few cheeky
vulcan and helitack attempts.
When the tide dropped a bit, headed straight to Shoreham Beach. It looked
quite good with a few waves coming in, rigged 4.5m quick, but the reality
was unbelievable amounts of chop, but not many ramps worth hitting and as
the session progressed every man and his dog arrived. Usually the little
wave zone downwind of the groyne is left alone, but today everyone seemed
to drift down. Had a few waves with live obstacles in the face! Still,
entertaining, challenging and sunny.
Packed up when starvation kicked in, Headed home, had lovely day with
family, did my DIY quota, ate the sunday roast and then headed back to
coast.
